NeighborHealth
NeighborHealth is a board governed nonprofit comprehensive health care organization serving residents of Boston’s South End and surrounding communities. The organization is committed to providing high quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive coordinated health care and social services to every patient regardless of their ability to pay. Its mission is rooted in accessibility, equity and care for the whole community.
Founded in 1969 by pediatrician Dr. Gerald Hass and neighborhood activists, NeighborHealth provides adult and family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental and eye care as well as women’s health services. In 2012, the organization opened the Dr. Gerald Hass Center, the first full time school based health center in Boston, serving both the community and nearly 600 students at Blackstone Innovation Elementary School. With a dedicated multicultural and multilingual staff, NeighborHealth serves more than 19,000 patients and supports over 75,000 visits annually while continuing to expand care for public housing residents and the broader community.
