INSIDE THE ARTIST MIND

Art is more than a picture, it’s an experience, a process, and a celebration of individual expression. The South End is one of Boston's most vibrant neighborhoods where artists have been creating their work for more than 50 years. The South End Open Studios welcomes visitors into private artist buildings throughout the neighborhood. This is a free event, open to the public ONLY on this ONE WEEKEND EACH YEAR. Visiting these studios is an occasion too good to miss; a truly rare opportunity to meet the artists and get behind-the-scenes tours of working studios that are usually behind closed doors.

During the past 38 years of the South End Open Studios, visitors have remarked at the high quality and one-of-a-kind authenticity of the art on view. The robust and diverse arts community includes artists working in a wide range of media such as painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, illustration, textiles, mixed-media, and more. Arts enthusiasts, collectors, and the curious are invited to see original works of art in the space, and with the tools, that created them. Spend the weekend experiencing the magic behind the art and support local artists during this once annual weekend celebration of all things creative!
