United South End Artists
United South End Artists (USEA) is a volunteer run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of artists and arts enthusiasts dedicated to cultivating the arts community, engaging audiences and promoting creative development in Boston’s South End. Founded in 1986, USEA believes that an informed audience is an engaged audience and that art is meant to be seen, shared and experienced. Through creative activities, educational presentations, networking opportunities and community events, the organization helps local artists increase their visibility, connect with one another and develop their practices.
USEA is also the producer of the annual South End Open Studios, a beloved neighborhood tradition that invites the public into working artist studios to experience art and meet the artists behind it. Representing artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and more, USEA brings together artists, businesses, institutions and neighbors to strengthen and celebrate the South End’s vibrant creative community. Its events and programming are made possible through charitable contributions from local businesses, institutions and private individuals.
