Michele Mercaldo Contemporary Jewelry Design is both a gallery and fully equipped jewelry studio in the heart of Boston’s historic South End, featuring an extensive range of jewelry hand fabricated in house. A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, Michele is an artist and master craftsperson who has been designing and making contemporary jewelry for more than 38 years. Her clean, modern aesthetic combines unusual precious stones, geometric forms and a precise sense of scale and proportion with the warmth and individuality of handcrafted work.
Michele also brings a contemporary edge to wedding and engagement jewelry, creating custom rings designed to become lasting heirlooms. Each piece is made to size using 100% recycled Harmony Metals, with a selection of unique, ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones available. A nationally recognized designer and multiple Best of Boston recipient, Michele creates jewelry that balances beautiful contradictions, from feminine and masculine to refined and urban, pairing strong classic lines with a progressive sensibility.
